Each panel plots the share of that province's news coverage scored as
negative, day by day. A break in the line is a day with no coverage at
all — not a day without negative news. Provincial reporting is thin,
so most provinces have data on only a handful of days in any window,
and a single article can move a day from 0% to 100%. Read the shape
over weeks, not individual points. The faint national line skips any
day with fewer than five signals nationwide, so it is context rather
than an echo of one article. Sentiment is scored by the
lexicon in sentiment.py; it reads tone, not truth.
